Tranquility Hill Fishing Lodge, Behring Point, Andros

"This is one of our favorite places in the world to go bonefishing, and staying at Tranquility Hill is like our second home. The Neymour and Mackey families are wonderful hosts."
Stephen and Kim Vletas, authors of The Bahamas Fly-Fishing Guide.
Tranquility Hill Lodge is ideally situated on a bluff at Behring Point, overlooking the eastern entrance to the North Bight. The vast fishing area sprawls over hundreds of miles and is composed of winding channels and creeks, lush mangrove cays, and countless miles of sandy flats stretching to the waters of the West Side. Roaming these flats are an amazing number of bonefish averaging 3-to 6-pounds. There are also plenty of fish in the 6- to 9-pound class, plus those unforgettable double-digit monsters. If you are looking for lots of bonefish, and Big Bones, Andros is The Place to test your skills.
The Tranquility guide staff is led by the legendary, Ivan Neymour, who has been guiding on Andros Island for over thirty-five years. Ivan's son, Dwayne, along with Tranquility's president and co-owner, Ray Mackey, and well-known independent guides Barry Neymour, Frankie Neymour, Deon Neymour, Ricardo Mackey and others form one of the best groups of guides anywhere. Anglers can fish outstanding flats right in front of the lodge on arrival and departure days, and/or fish with a guide on arrival and departure days. Guides are also patient instructors – coaching you as much, or as little, as you want. They can help to improve your casting, your stripping, hook setting technique and fish-fighting skills. Most importantly, these guides can really spot those ghostly bonefish, and then place you in position for an easy cast. Normal fishing hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., however, according to the best tides, guides are flexible. Whether the best tide is at dawn or late in the day, guides can set you up to fish at the perfect time for those big ocean bones. Because the tides enter and recede through the Bights, from east and west, there maybe simultaneous rising and falling tides throughout the day. This is a huge advantage Andros has over most other fishing grounds the world over. You can fish incoming, or falling tides, pretty much throughout the day, just take your pick.
The lodge has comfortable spacious air-conditioned rooms with private baths. Chef Cora Neymour prepares a variety of authentic Bahamian meals including fresh seafood (lobster, cracked conch, grouper, snapper, mahi-mahi and more), barbecued chicken and ribs, and steaks accompanied by Bahamian specialties like homemade Johnny Cake, conch chowder, peas and rice, baked spicy macaroni and cheese, green salads and more. Exotic Caribbean cocktails, including Bahama Mama's and Goombay Smashes, plus a wide selection of brand name liquors are served in the well-stocked bar. Apre fishing snacks are served in the bar every afternoon, and satellite TV is available in the bar and lodge living room. The bar deck is a great place to sip your favorite cocktail, or the beer of the Bahamas, Kalik, while watching the sunset over the North Bight. You can stay in touch with friends and family by purchasing one of our convenient AT&T or Bell Long Distance Calling Cards. At Tranquility Hill Fishing Lodge the slogan, “We Aim To Please!” is not just a slogan--it is their commitment to quality service, and their desire to provide an experience that exceeds your expectations.
