There are no phones or TVs at this gem of a resort that is accessible only by boat. The main lodge is an expansive gathering place with wood-beamed ceilings that naturally combine bar, lounge, library, and dining room. Eleven bungalow suites with wraparound porches are strung out along the powdery beach shaded by coconut palms. Bedrooms with soft linens are positioned to receive the cooling ocean breeze. Leisurely meals include seafood delights, homemade breads, and luscious desserts.
Tiamo is one of the most highly regarded eco-lodges in the Caribbean, and the winner of numerous eco-awards. The resort is solar powered, quiet and tranquil, yet luxury is not sacrificed. Tiamo is focused on delivering a high level of service to a limited number of guests. No more than twenty-two guest will be at the lodge at one time, and the staff/guest ratio will always be at least one to one.
Guided snorkeling, sea kayaking, nature hikes, sailing, and fly-fishing excursions can be arranged at your whim. Or you can do it on your own. Take a sea kayak to a nearby cay or sandbar. There is excellent wade fishing for bonefish along the shoreline in front of the resort. Or just relax on the picture perfect beach.
Each evening guests gather in the main lodge for cocktails, appetizers, and a casually elegant candlelit dinner. The well-stocked bar is complimented by a great wine list

Flights arrive into Congo Town Airport, South Andros. This is an official entry point with customs service. The runway was lengthed to 6,000 ft. in 2003 and can take most private jets. Western Air offers the best commercial air service from Nassau, with a morning and afternoon flight every day of the week. Charter flights are available from Nassau, Miami, and Ft. Lauderdale. A Tiamo staff member will pick you up and then you will be transferred to the lodge via private ferry boat, about a ten minute ride. Guests traveling from the Eastern time zone can easily make it to the lodge in one day. From the Central time zone, guests can make it in one day depending on their home city. From the Mountain and Pacific time zones you generally will have to spend a night in Nassau. If you spend a night in Nassau, it is still possible to get in a full day of fishing the next day by taking an early morning flight to Congo Town.
