Los Laureles Lodge
Cast and Blast for Doves, Pigeon, Partridge, Ducks, and Golden Dorado

< Back to Cast and Blast

Surrounded by rivers, including the mighty Parana, and lush green grasslands, Los Laureles offers a peerless blend of fishing and wing-shooting. Located northwest of Buenos Aires in the province of Entre Rios, the classic hacienda-style lodge feels the way you would expect a fine sporting lodge to feel--relaxed and inviting, with comfortable leather and wood furniture in the living room, bar, and dining room, and six spacious double rooms with A/C and fireplaces for year-round comfort. Original Argentine cuisine consisting of beef and game is exquisitely prepared by the lodge's chefs, and outdoor parrillas with lamb, chorrizos and doves are a specialty. Fine wines from Bodega Salentein, a premiere Mendoza winery, accompany lunch and dinner. Additional amenities include in-room jacuzzis, satellite TV, and a swimming pool.

You won't have to go far, never more than 45 minutes, to partake of the outstanding shooting and fishing opportunities. With direct access to the Parana River and its tributaries, the fly-fishing and spin casting for golden dorado, "el tigre de Parana", is sensational. Well-trained guides work out of center-console Carolina Skiffs to get you to the best fishing spots in a hurry, and these boats provide the ideal platform for easy casting. Pound-for-pound the acrobatic golden dorado is one of the strongest and fiercest fighters in the real of fresh water fishing. Picture a golden-colored striped bass that jumps like a tarpon and has the stamina of a jack crevalle. Other species such as surubies, paties, and manduvies are also available in the Parana.

The year-round dove shooting in the habitat around the lodge is phenomenal. Everything you've ever heard about the amazing numbers of doves in Argentina is true. Pigeon shooting is another year-round option, and like the doves, there is no limit. From September through April combining doves and pigeons with exciting dorado action creates an ideal activity program.

From May through August dove shooting remains excellent, however, this is the time of year to enjoy partridge and duck shooting as well, and if you want to toss in some dorado action on the Parana, that's just icing on the cake. Your hunting guides will use well-trained dogs on outings for partridge and ducks in specially selected areas that hold the most birds at the time of your visit.

We can coordinate your travel and visit to Los Laureles with your arrival at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires from your country of origin, or from anywhere within Argentina. We highly recommend taking at least a few days to visit the wine country of Mendoza either before or after you adventure to Los Laureles.
