Our top choice for quality bonefishing combined with a variety of vacation services. An ideal location for an overall couples or family vacation. Bonefish average five pounds, with many fish eight pounds and up. Guided fishing is done from Maverick Mirage flats boats. Anglers are picked up at the hotel each morning and driven 15 minutes to the Queen's Cove launch site. Other launch sites, including the West End, are used as well.
Pelican Bay Resort has 69 deluxe rooms and 48 luxury suites located on the marina with a two freshwater swimming pools, two Jacuzzis, pool snack bar, and Ferry House restaurant. Rooms and suites include air-conditioning, private baths, balconies, mini-bars, and satellite TV. 20 restaurants and 80 shops are located around Count Basie Square at the Port Lucaya Marketplace, a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Across the way is the Our Lucaya Westin and Sheraton Resort. Pelican Bay guests have reciprocal privileges to use all facilities, including the white sand beach, spa and health club.

Flights arrive into Freeport International Airport, Grand Bahama. This is an official entry point with customs service. American Eagle has at least a dozen flights a day from Miami and other Florida airports. Bahamasair flies from Florida and Nassau. Western Air flies from Nassau. Continental/Gulfstream flies from Ft. Lauderdale, and other carries arrive from Atlanta, Cincinnati, and Charlotte. The taxi ride from the airport to Pelican Bay is about 15 minutes, and costs about $15 USD, which is reimbursed by the resort.
